  1. Teacher

We are looking for a dynamic teacher for our arts-based program for September 2018.  Our school runs from 4:15 to 6:15 pm on Thursday afternoons, and caters to students from SK to grade six.  In our inclusive and engaging environment, we aim to teach students about Jewish history, culture, and traditions, with a focus on creating a Jewish identity in the modern world.

Our ideal candidates have experience with inclusive formal and/or informal Jewish education and are creative thinkers and educators.  Lesson planning/curriculum development experience is preferred.  Hebrew language skills are an asset, but not a requirement for this position.  Our teachers are paid $100 per class ($25 for their lesson plan, $75 for teaching).  For more information about our congregation and school, please see http://www.djctoronto.com.

  1. Music Specialist

In our arts-based teaching environment, music features prominently!  We are seeking a music teacher/songleader with an abundance of energy and the ability to engage a wide variety of age groups.

Our ideal candidate can teach traditional as well as contemporary Jewish songs, and is excited to work with teachers to coordinate with the curriculum.  The music specialist will teach every other week, and will be paid $100 per class.  It is not necessary for the music specialist to read music; in fact, we are more interested in their ability to use music as a tool for Jewish teaching and learning.
