SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Meet at the Madinah Masjid (mosque) at 1015 Danforth Avenue (@Donlands) at 2:30 p.m. to:

  • Hear Rabbi Miriam and other faith leaders speak about the need to end poverty and hunger;
  • Walk along the Danforth united as a diverse multifaith community committed to our belief that peace and harmony are possible;
  • Break “ceremonial bread” together at Eastminster United Church (the home of the DJC) at the end of our walk from mosque to church to synagogue.

Every October 16 is United Nations World Food Day and October 17 is United Nations Day For the Eradication of Poverty; so our event vent will coincide with other groups across Canada, all joining the national “Chew On This” anti-hunger campaign. In over 150 countries across the globe, events are held to promote awareness and action for those living in poverty and suffering from hunger, and to raise awareness of the need to ensure food security and nutritious diets for all.  Learn more about UN’S World Food Day and International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.]
