Just as renovations making important accessibility modifications to Eastminster will be wrapping up, we will celebrate our fourth annual Shabbat Itanu, a city-wide celebration of the inclusion of people with disabilities in the Jewish community.

In past years we have had moving talks by David Lepofsky, renowned lawyer, disability advocate, and important pioneer in the creation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); Ellen Schwartz, inclusion advocate and mother of a son with a neurological disability; and Mel Kirzner and his friend John, residents and members of L’Arche, who spoke about the importance of community for everyone, including those with intellectual disabilities.

This year won’t disappoint, so please join us as we discuss the more important aspects of inclusion and accessibility and celebrate both Shabbat Itanu and the new improvements to the building.
