Introductions, singing and blessings will begin at 6:00 pm
We’ll gather in Withrow Park for a warm, relaxed, and joyous evening to welcome the Syrian refugee family the DJC is sponsoring, Shabbat and each other. This informal evening is an opportunity to meet this wonderful new Canadian family, new DJCers (and those who feel new-ish), to connect with old friends, and to soften into Shabbat with some sweet singing and blessings (we’ll provide candles, grape juice, and challah) with plenty of time to eat and to greet. There will be music and Israeli dancing too so everyone can join in!
Please bring a vegetarian dish to share (enough for 8 hungry adults!), plus your own plates, cups, etc., and a blanket or chair to sit on.
Due to do serious allergies in our community, it is important that all potluck dishes arrive with an ingredients list attached. We know it is a lot to prepare food and this is an extra step, however, it allows us to include everyone in our communal meals. With much gratitude … the DJC
