Social Justice Shabbat Dinner and Panel: Reflecting on Islamophobia

November 24, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for a song-filled Kabbalat Shabbat service, dinner, engaging panel and discussion. Continuing an annual series of Social Justice-themed Shabbat Dinners and Discussions for those who are youngish and Jewish, we will gather to explore the important topic of Islamophobia. We will hear personal stories from members of Muslim communities and reflect on the rise of overt anti-Muslim sentiments in Toronto and Canada. As members of the Jewish community, we will explore how we can be allies to Muslims in confronting Islamophobia and address recent points of contention.
Kabbalat Shabbat service – 6:00 pm / Dinner and conversation – 7:00 pm.

Co-Sponsored by: Temple Sinai Next Generation, Holy Blossom Young Professionals, Beth Tzedec 20s and 30s, Danforth Jewish Circle’s Youngish and Jewish, Annex Shul and Ve’ahavta.

Cost: $25; PWYC option is available.
