Ritual Leadership Training: Evening Session

March 2 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Be part of our Inclusive Ritual Leadership revolution!  WE WANT YOU!

Maybe this is your moment to step into new learning and leadership at the DJC. Are you curious to discover personal relevance in ancient words and practices?  Do you struggle to connect with God-language or the words of Torah?  Do you want to understand the words and diverse meanings of Jewish ritual and prayer? Take this opportunity to deepen your connection and help strengthen the DJC.

In order to be the inclusive and engaged community we aim to be, we want to train as many DJC members as possible to be leaders in Jewish ritual – leading a blessing, raising the Torah, being called to the Torah, etc.  Since our exciting and unique decision, ritual leadership roles are open to everyone, Jews and non-Jews, who participate in our training program, growing knowledge, understanding, personal meaning, commitment, and skills.

Topics for Full-Day Intensive:

What is Torah? Introduction to the arc of the Torah narrative. What is revelation? A close look at the Sinai narrative and different ways of interpreting/relating to the receiving of Torah (i.e. What is commentary and interpretation?) What are different ways of relating to commandment/mitzvah rooted in different beliefs or orientations? What are different ways of relating to God, God-language, and words of prayer?

For more information, contact Rabbi Miriam.

This program is also ideal for anyone interested gaining a greater understanding about Torah, blessings, and rituals.
