Every Pesach we transform from being slaves to being free, from a life of narrow and fearful constriction to a life in the wide, brave, enlivened expanse together. And yet, fear is present and palpable in all of our lives — existential fear, fear of pain, fear of failure, fear of missing out, fear of public speaking, fear of loss, fear of greatness… And we live in a frightening world. And as Jews, we have inherited a legacy of fear. If we don’t learn to work with our fears in conscious, wise, and embodied ways, they will limit our lives, our work, our relationships, the Jewish people, and Judaism itself.
This session will prepare our hearts and minds for Pesach, for deeper liberation as individuals and as a people. We will explore ways of transforming fear and its accompanying paralysis, rigidity, numbness, and reactivity into responsive, resilient, attuned, and loving actions and inner orientations. Our tools will include Jewish text and simple, playful guided and improvisational movement. If you can move at all, you can do this!
