We launched our annual fundraising campaign on Rosh Hashanah – our Bayit Campaign. This was earlier than normal because this year we are dedicating our efforts towards recognizing Rabbi Miriam and Cantor Lisa who, as you know, are leaving. They have blessed us with their hearts, their care, compassion, wisdom, and song. They have been integral to the building of our DJC home. Our Bayit. We are ever grateful.
The campaign gives Members and Non-members an opportunity to show them, through a donation, how much you appreciate all that they have done for us. And demonstrate how we will move forward with strength because of them.
Your contribution will further the home we have all constructed together. It will reinforce our new beginnings building on their legacy. New resources will offer more adult and youth programming, spiritual learning, community activities, lifecycle support and accessibility to the DJC for those in financial need.
We have set a target of $100,000. It is the biggest in the history of the DJC. That number also, as it happens and fittingly so, represents approximately 18% of our operating budget.
We acknowledge that many of you have already donated and we thank you for your generosity. We are asking all of you NOW – to STRETCH. If you can, double your regular donation making 18 dollars $36, $118 – $236, $360 – $720 and so on. Or make a onetime Impact Donation of $2,500, $3,600 or $5,000 and add to the rich life of the Danforth Jewish Circle.
