Event: Reclaiming Tradition: A Queer & Trans Shabbaton
WHEN: Friday, August 25 ~ Sunday, August 27
PROGRAM: Arrive between 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday / Depart 12:00 noon on Sunday
DETAILS: This liberation-based shabbaton is an opportunity to come together around our shared and diverse experiences of being queer and Jewish. We will [re-]connect to Jewish spirituality as well as discuss issues which are alive for us in this moment.
LOCATION: Buck Lake, just outside Gravenhurst, 15km east of Gravenhurst (2.5 hour drive north of Toronto)
COST: $60-$80 plus carpool pitch-ins (if applicable). No one is turned away for lack of funds – sliding scale is available.

Event: Shoresh’s Honey Festival at Bela Farm
WHEN: Sunday, August 27
PROGRAM TIME: 12:00 – 5:00 PM
DETAILS: A celebration of bees, honey, and pollination!
Join us at beautiful Bela Farm to celebrate the little creatures the run the world, the pollinators! Bring friends and family for an afternoon of fun in the green hills of Hillsburgh, Ontario. We will be offering tours of the farm and our 4 acre Bee Sanctuary and apiary, learning sessions with local beekeepers and pollinator activists, honey tasting, interactive crafts and planting workshops for kids, Rosh Hashana honey preparations, and much more! Come to spend a day with us out of the city and connecting with nature before the summer ends!
This event is great for the whole family, as well as anybody who is excited to learn about the bees and see the natural world in a whole new light.
Shoresh’s Honey Festival at Bela Farm is produced in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation and PJ Library.
