Event: A BETTER WAY FORWARD FOR ISRAEL’S SECURITY

Canadian Friends of Peace Now presents program with (Ret.) Major General Amnon Reshef  of the Commander’s for Israel’s Security.

DETAILS: General Amnon Reshef is a Yom Kippur War hero whose distinguished military career spans 28 years. He is the Founder of the Commanders for Israel’s Security (CIS) — an organization which includes 85% of the highest ranking retired officers in the IDF, Shin Bet, Mossad and Israel Police Force — 270 members in all. The CIS’s Security First plan includes measures to improve security for Israel as well as pragmatic measures to preserve options for a 2-state solution. It supports regional talks with pragmatic Sunni Arab nations.
Maj. Gen. Reshef’s talk will be followed by questions from: Paul Michaels, Centre for Canada and Israel Jewish Affairs Yoni Goldstein, Editor, Canadian Jewish News.

Event: 37th ANNUAL HOLOCAUST EDUCATION WEEK

WHEN November 2 – 9.
DETAILS: HEW examines specific events of the post-Holocaust period that shaped our understanding of the Holocaust. These events stand out as moments of magnitude that dramatically altered the way in which we depict and talk about the Holocaust. Programs include cultural productions, film, literature, history and lectures.
