Jewish Studies Teachers

We are currently looking for multiple teachers for our 2024/2025 school year.  Our primary/junior program runs from 4:15 to 6:15 pm on Thursday afternoons, and caters to students from SK to grade six.  In our inclusive and engaging environment, we aim to teach students about Jewish history, culture, and traditions, with a focus on creating a Jewish identity in the modern world. We are a thoughtful and collaborative team!

What You Offer

Our ideal classroom teachers:

  • have experience with formal and/or informal progressive Jewish education 
  • are creative thinkers 
  • have lesson planning/curriculum development experience 
  • value teamwork and collaboration
  • are flexible and compassionate educators
  • are excited to be in community with interfaith/intercultural/Jewish& families
  • embrace our values of equity, anti-racism and inclusion
  • Hebrew language skills are an asset, but not a requirement for this position.

  • is a lively, engaging, and experienced songleader and/or music specialist
  • is excited about helping us to build our music curriculum, and to bring their repertoire of Jewish songs to our community
  • feels comfortable teaching prayers, and approaching them with a progressive Jewish lens (or is excited to learn about this practice)
  • has experience and/or comfort working in informal Jewish learning spaces (ie. creative supplementary schools, camps, etc.) 
  • values teamwork and collaboration
  • is excited to be in community with interfaith/intercultural/Jewish& families
